Car Rental Marrakech

Marrakech is Morocco's most competitive car rental market — widest agency choice, lowest rates, especially for economy and compact vehicles. The city sits at the start of Morocco's most popular road-trip routes: the High Atlas two hours south, Ouarzazate and the Sahara road in five hours, and Essaouira on the Atlantic coast 2.5 hours west. A standard city car handles all the main routes comfortably; a 4x4 is only necessary if you plan to leave tarmac into the Atlas foothills.

Most local agencies operate from Gueliz (the modern district) or from Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK). Airport pickup is convenient but adds a small daily surcharge — if your hotel is in the city, collecting from a Gueliz agency the morning after arrival and returning the evening before departure is the cheaper option. Driving inside the medina walls is not recommended; use the guarded car parks near Jemaa el-Fna Square and continue on foot.
